Last night Rosemary Gorton(Stuart Crystal) and I attended the Prize giving at Dudley College.

There was a special section for the awards for glass, which were:-

The Frederick Stuart Memorial Bursary of £1000 - Nadine Stanley

The Frederick Stuart Memorial Commendation Award of £25 - Naomi Andrews

The Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers (£500 each) - Tim Boswell and Richard Roberts

The Plowden & Thompson Ltd Prize (£100 of Materials) - Christine Ann Cadden

The Plowden & Thompson Ltd Commendation (£25 of materials) -Jessica Welch and Lisa Jones

The Friends of Broadfield House Glass Museum Part-time Student Award of £100 - a cheque was presented to Sophie Harmer- Knight.

All the above had previously been given the opportunity to display work at the Beads Day at the Museum.

Welcome to 2011, may this be a good year for all of us - The Museum, the Staff, The Friends and all our visitors.

There are many new things to see and displays are being changed.? The Friends have an interesting programme with more events to be added.?

Broadfield House Glass Museum was featured on the BBC - Midlands today on 6th December 2010.

The British Glass Foundation will be launching their charity on the 24th November 2010 at Hagley Hall.
